DC-Coupled BESS Augmentation

In alignment with NextEra’s goals to add Battery Storage at all of their Solar Energy Center’s this project served as one of the first such DC-Coupled BESS for NextEra. The implementation of DC-Coupled BESS provides significant efficiency gains over traditional AC-Coupled systems and provides better returns for all stakeholders.

UNIQUE ATTRIBUTES: BESS augmentation at an existing solar center requires meticulous excavation around existing underground direct buried DCConductors and communication raceways. PPS crews utilized a hydro-vac for personnel and equipment safety. Along with difficult excavation requirements, PPS provided temporary roadways and ramps for the placement of the 90,000Lb containers and associated battery modules
