Meet Paul Scarpulla, CPA, one of the newest editions to the PPS team!

Paul comes to PPS with an extensive background in accounting system implementation, consulting, business risk services, accounting, and auditing.

He is a licensed CPA in Florida and brings a wealth of experience across industries, including a strong portfolio in the federal sector, to our company.

Paul was born and raised in Alabama and worked for PwC’s Assurance Practice in Birmingham before accepting a transfer to the company’s Federal Practice in Washington, D.C., in 2009. Here, he worked developing and testing internal controls for government departments, including FEMA and its National Disaster Housing Strategy.

Following PwC, Paul accepted a position with Deloitte & Touche LLP in their Federal Business Risk Solutions Group. His tenure here included work in the Pentagon, specifically in the U.S. Navy’s Payroll Department, working to improve the reimbursement system for special operations offices.

Prior to joining PPS, Paul was a Principal Accountant and then an Assistant Controller at Leonardo DRS, a defense company based in Arlington, Virginia. Here, he worked in the Airborne and Intelligence Systems division and oversaw the organization’s daily accounting operations, including GL, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and federal contracting compliance.

His wealth of experience, especially in the federal sector and with the Federal Acquisition Regulations, makes Paul an incredible addition to our team. His ability to follow the federal government’s cost accounting standards ensures smooth standardization and reporting compliance with our federal projects.

When asked about what attracted him to PPS, Paul noted the ability to implement change and financial improvements across the organization. His day-to-day includes overseeing our entire accounting department, including budgeting and forecasting.

Paul is a proud alumnus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an avid Blazers fan. He always makes sure to attend a few games each year. In his free time, Paul enjoys spending time with his family at northwest Florida’s beaches.
