We are excited to welcome Matt Keiper to the PPS team as our new Director of Operations. With decades of experience in construction, civil contracting, and power transmission, Matt brings a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for developing the next generation of industry professionals.
Originally from a small timber and agricultural community in the Endless Mountain region of northern Pennsylvania, Matt built his foundation in construction at an early age. At just sixteen, he began working for his father’s pipeline and underground utility contracting firm, where his first project involved laboring on a 12-mile steel gas transmission pipeline. That early experience sparked his love for the industry and instilled a deep respect for hard work and craftsmanship.
Matt went on to study at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Economics. After graduation, he co-founded a site development and civil contracting firm in Northern Virginia, where he combined his field knowledge with a strong understanding of business operations, organizational management, and project development. Growing the company from its inception gave him valuable insight into what drives project success and how to build strong, solution-focused teams.
His career continued with Michels Corporation, where he launched and managed their Eastern Civil and Environmental Division, supporting major infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. In 2015, Matt joined Jingoli Power under a staff augmentation role that quickly grew into managing transmission and substation projects for a public utility in Pennsylvania, overseeing the commissioning of more than $100M in assets annually. Most recently, he relocated to Austin, Texas, where he led a large electrical distribution renewal project for the City of Austin, further expanding his expertise in both contractor and client perspectives.
What drew Matt to PPS was a project in Austin where he worked alongside the Panhandle Power team. The company’s commitment to safety, customer service, employee care, and long-term growth reflected the same values Matt held when he co-founded his own firm years earlier. Joining PPS felt like a natural alignment of vision and mission.
As Director of Operations, Matt is most excited about mentoring and developing PPS project teams. He sees his role as an opportunity to help employees grow into respected leaders within the company and recognized professionals in the power delivery industry. This mission strengthens both individual careers and PPS’s strategic growth.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys sushi, live music, and hockey nights with his wife. He also spends time outdoors with his family hiking, fly fishing, upland bird hunting, and practicing traditional archery. When indoors, he pursues creative writing and painting, passions that reflect his appreciation for both precision and creativity.
