PPS is thrilled to be collaborating with Bering – Weston JV on an emergency response initiative commissioned by FEMA to assist the Bee Tree reservoir in Asheville, NC. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Asheville’s water supply has been inundated with sediment due to significant flooding, erosion, and loss of vegetation. This project aims to establish a temporary water treatment facility to supplement the existing Bee Tree facility, focusing on removing silt, soil, and debris from the water before processing. This temporary setup will provide crucial support for up to 18 months if needed.
Recognizing the urgent need to support the community and our federal government, the installation of electrical services commenced November 22nd. PPS has deployed eight talented electricians in installing two,1MW generators configured in an N+1 setup to supply essential power to four Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units, a filter press system, and a filter bank. We are thankful to our crew working down to the wire before Thanksgiving!
PPS is proud to be part of this vital project that aims to aid a community that has lost so much.
