Washington State Dept of Commerce: Tribal Clean Energy Grants

Get ready to power up with $16 million exclusively for federally recognized Tribes in Washington state! This funding supports planning, designing, and building clean energy projects that boost sovereignty, enhance resiliency, and drive Washington’s decarbonization goals. Applications are open until September 27, 2024!

Inflation Reduction Act Community Changes Grant Program

The EPA has announced a $2 billion NOFO for environmental and climate justice projects benefiting disadvantaged communities. These projects aim to reduce pollution, boost climate resilience, and build community capacity for tackling environmental and climate justice issues. Eligible applicants include partnerships between two community-based non-profits (CBOs) or one CBO and one of the following: Federally recognized Tribe, local government, or an institution of higher education. Express interest by August 16, 2024. The application deadline is November 21, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET.

MSI Contract Readiness Prize

Boost your DOE-contract readiness with mentoring, teaming, and technical support through this prize for HBCUs, MSIs, and TCUs! Awards start at $10,000. Submit by October 4, 2024.

Notice of Intent: $30 million to support Tribal clean energy planning and development

The upcoming opportunity invites applications for planning, assessing, and developing clean energy projects on Tribal lands and buildings. The Office of Indian Energy is seeking applications from Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Regional and Village Corporations, Intertribal Organizations, and Tribal Energy Development Organizations to conduct planning, assess the feasibility and viability of deploying clean energy technology, and design and develop clean energy projects for Tribal buildings or lands. Funding anticipated to be announced by the end of summer!

On Thursday September 12th in Anaheim, California at the RE+ event, hosted by the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy, this day long symposium brings together Tribal leaders, energy developers, and clean energy experts to discuss a just transition. This one-day symposium features informative sessions, case studies, and discussion on respectful, equitable, and profitable partnerships with Tribes to develop clean energy projects.

Indigenous Geothermal Symposium

This October 27th – 30th in Waikoloa, Hawaii the GRC is hosting the geothermal industry’s premier annual conference, showcasing its global reach and uniting industry professionals, academics, government officials, and the public. It’s a hub for building relationships, discussing opportunities and challenges, sharing the latest technologies and innovations, and educating those outside the community about geothermal energy.
